Let's Go Surfing
1995 - present
Let's Go Surfing began as the humble brain child of local Surfer Brenda Miley. Operating out of the back of a Kombi van in 1995, the school now employs over a hundred staff, across multiple locations and is a staple of the Bondi Beach community and tourist experience. The school first started with the idea to encourage more women in surfing. Brenda had surfed with the legends of Bondi in the 80s and 90s surf scene but was outnumbered in the waves and in competitions. She wanted to create a safe space for females to learn, build skills and eventually compete. With a motto of ‘Changing Lives One Wave at a Time’, over 27 years, Lets Go Surfing has improved the lives of thousands of surf students while providing specialised surfboards and wetsuits. The Lets Go Surfing team are passionate surf lovers and professional coaches who develop and innovate surf programs regularly. Lets Go Surfing is Bondi's only Eco Accredited and licenced surf school. It’s locally loved and internationally recognised.
The 2000 Olympics were a particularly special period for Lets Go Surfing. The brand was broadcast around the world by athletes, including Eric the Eel, learning to surf with Miley's team. This launched Lets Go Surfing as a pioneer in surfing tourism, allowing savvy adventure seekers to connect with the local community.
A multi award winning business, in 2018 and 2021 Lets Go Surfing won gold in the NSW Tourism awards and was inducted into the NSW Tourism Hall of Fame.
