DESCRIPTION
Variant titleA Waverley Library Local History FactsheetAuthor/CreatorWaverley LibraryContentsBorn in 1941, Susan Cullen Ward became Queen Susan I Zog of Albania after marrying Leka Zogu, son of exiled King Zog. Both with royal lineage claims, they had a son, Leka Anwar. Leka, a towering figure at 6ft 9in, was dubbed the 'gun-toting giant' amid allegations of arms dealing. Constantly moving, the couple's dream of ruling Albania ended in 1997 when a pro-monarchy referendum failed. Queen Susan died in Albania in 2004 at 63.TypeFactsheetCollectionLocal History Factsheets
